From Aspiration to Reality

This is the first post of many to come for this blog and even though no one is even following it yet I hope that looking back on this post all followers know that I am a happy person right now, and I will tell you why.
Everyone always asks me lately "What do you WANT to do after you Graduate?". I tell them, all I really want to do is ride my bike. Well this is a reality now and I haven't been more excited for anything else in my life I have ever planned before.
Today I met with Manca Valum the Director of Development for Huxley College of the Environment and John Thompson from Western Washington University Communications and we went over the details of making this trip happen. I couldn't be more satisfied on how it went. We covered the fund raising options and just chatted about some of the possibilities of projects to do along the way. Such as collecting trash and recyclables along the road to promote the reduction of waste in Guatemala that is creating vulnerability.
Life has been a whirlwind for me the past couple of months from leaving a serious relationship, subsequently moving out, couchsurfing with friends, trying to graduate while having a fun spring with friends and to top it off prepare for this bike trip. And having officially gotten the wheels in motion (pun indubitably intended) I am ecstatic to make the first post to this blog in hopes of many more documenting this adventure. Thanks for reading.

Have a great trip. This sounds like the adventure of a lifetime.

A suggestion for you: we have a blog at www.johnsonteamrealestate.com/blog that is viewed by 1000's every month. If you'd like to send me some narrative about your trip & some photos, I'd be delighted to post it for you. Who knows, you might even get some added donations.
